Bodour Al Qasimi affirms her commitment to unifying the efforts of the publishing sector and promoting its growth globally

As part of her tours in the global publishing markets affected by the economic repercussions of the Corona crisis, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association, headed to the Spanish capital, Madrid, in a step to confirm the union’s commitment to communicate with all stakeholders in the publishing sector to identify opportunities for joint cooperation at the global level with the aim of strengthening Publishing system and stimulating its growth globally.

During the visit, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi met with representatives of publishing houses and members of the board of directors of the Spanish Association of Publishers Syndicates, and she called on governments and international organizations to provide an incubating environment for publishers that ensures the prosperity of the publishing sector and enhances the efforts of the International Publishers Association in unifying the efforts of the publishing sector at the global level.

The President of the International Federation of Publishers reviewed the efforts made to present the vision of the publishing system through the new projects that were implemented after the issuance of a report prepared by the Federation entitled “From Response to Recovery: The Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on the Global Publishing Industry.”

 Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi explained that the "global plan to enhance the sustainability and resilience of the publishing industry (InSPIRe)", which was recently launched by the union as part of its new work plan, will help promote the growth of the publishing sector and open opportunities for cooperation between publishers and workers in the publishing sector, including specialists in printing and distribution, libraries, and writers. and illustrators, stressing the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the publishing industry in the future.
