A child who was hit by a car in front of a daycare center in Witzenhausen, northern Hesse, died of his serious injuries.
The police announced on Friday.
Two other students were seriously injured in the incident on Friday.
The 30-year-old driver also suffered serious injuries, as the police in Eschwege had announced.
The man had driven in his small car in Witzenhausen in the Werra-Meißner district for an initially unexplained cause with a group of children who were on their way to their elementary school.
The police assumed an accident.
