The number of training courses taken under the Personal Training Account (CPF) almost doubled between 2019 and 2020, according to a Dares study published on Thursday, on the occasion of the two-year launch of the “My Account” application. training ”.

While 517,000 training courses were followed within the framework of the CPF in 2019, the number was 984,000 in 2020, indicates the statistical service of the Ministry of Labor, highlighting an "unprecedented increase" in training entries.

Training courses popular with job seekers

Carried by the driving license, the field of transport is in the lead and represents more than a quarter of the training courses carried out (25.9%).

Next come languages (17%), the development of guidance, integration or reintegration capacities (15.2%) or even IT (10.3%).

La Dares emphasizes that the sharp increase in training courses taken is explained by the opening at the end of November 2019 of the “direct purchase route” (PAD), which allows people to mobilize their rights without an intermediary to purchase training.

This transition to the PAD "is particularly favorable to women, those under 30 and over 60, job seekers and non-managerial employees", indicates the study.

Job seekers notably represent "36% of CPF beneficiaries in 2020, 4 points more than the previous year".

Increase among hotel workers

Another study by the Caisse des Dépôts, which manages the CPF, confirms a year 2020 "marked by an explosion in demand" and underlines that the dynamism "is confirmed in 2021, with over the first six months a number of files equivalent to that of the whole of 2020 ”.

The CDC lists 4.6 million training files funded by the CPF from 2015 to the end of the first half of 2021, including 2.1 million since the opening of “My training account” in November 2019.

For private sector employees only, the rate of recourse to the CPF rose from 1.5% in 2018 and 2019, to 2.5% in 2020, indicates another note from the CDC.

In addition to the transition to PAD, this can be explained in particular by the Covid-19 crisis which has also "freed up time, increased uncertainty and accelerated changes in certain sectors".

Accommodation and food service workers, often in partial employment during the crisis, have “one of the biggest increases in the use rate” (from 0.7% in 2019 to 2.4% in 2020).
