The unions validated this Tuesday evening a memorandum of understanding putting an end to the strike by bus drivers of the Transdev network in Melun (Seine-et-Marne) and its surroundings.

The drivers had started a social movement two months earlier.

They intended to protest against the reorganization of the Ile-de-France offer of their employer after the opening of the market to competition, explains France 3 Paris Ile-de-France.

A final conciliation meeting between employee representatives and managers resulted in an agreement.

Traffic on the 36 bus lines, very disturbed since the start of the strike, should gradually return to a normal rate from this Thursday.

However, the movement of Transdev drivers continues in Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne) and in its metropolitan area.

Nine commitments on key points

In Melun, the solution that was found made it possible to "respond to the demands that had been raised by the trade unions", welcomed Mohamed Abdelmoumni, UST-SUD delegate of the Vaux-le-Pénil depot (Seine-et- Marl).

The trade unionist spoke of "common ground".

The end of the strike was obtained thanks to approximately "nine commitments which are points of adjustment to answer the demands which had been raised".

These relate in particular to the machinists' duty sheets and the organization of work.
