The 31st of this month is the ballot counting day for the House of Representatives election.

At high schools in Sendai, a mock vote was held to select candidates by comparing the policies of candidates in order to raise their interest in politics and elections.

The mock voting was held as part of the class at Clark Memorial International High School in Wakabayashi-ku, Sendai, and 190 people from grades 1 to 3 participated.

After receiving explanations of mock voting from the teacher in charge in each classroom, the students were divided into groups of five and discussed and decided on the criteria for voting such as personality and policy.

Next, while looking at the homepage of the candidate running for Miyagi 1st district in this House of Representatives election and the "election bulletin" with promises etc., we organized specific policies and decided the voting destination. I did.

A girl student in the third year of high school said, "Amid the problem that young people do not go to vote, mock voting has raised awareness of the election. In the House of Representatives election, solid measures against new corona and environmental problems I want to vote for the candidates who have listed. "

Professor Shinya Akitaya, who was in charge of this class, said, "Elections are important, so I want each person to vote independently."
