Residents of the Southern Shouneh region of Jordan were able to arrest a famous thief with the title "The Masked Thief", who carried out a large number of theft operations over the past two years without being arrested.
The thief was known as the "disguised thief", and he used to steal in a strange way, as he would choose illegal stolen goods such as unlicensed weapons and military equipment, and other belongings that the people could not report on, and he would burn the houses he stole to hide his tracks.
According to "Sky News", which quoted residents of the area as saying, after two years of the thefts, the people ambushed the thief and were able to arrest him, and he confessed to having stolen dozens of homes.
No one reported to the security services because of the nature of the stolen items, but social media pioneers circulated videos depicting the thief being beaten and wearing a mask, with a portion of the stolen items next to him, prompting the security services to open an investigation into the incident.
And the media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate in Jordan announced that an investigation is underway in a video circulated today, in which a group of people appeared who tied a person and assaulted him, because of his theft, according to the aggressors' claim.
He stressed that no official complaint was received regarding that video by the victim, whose identity and whereabouts were determined, and it was found that he is in good health, and he was summoned to listen to his statements and identify all those involved in the assault on him to arrest them and refer them to the judiciary to take the legal requirement against them.
