On October 27, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference.

A reporter asked questions. After mainland netizens revealed that the Taiwanese film "Time Machine" adapted from a mainland author's work of the same name was subsidized by Taiwan's official government and director Cai Yifen had made inappropriate remarks in the past, the film's starring Chen Linong proposed to terminate the contract.

May I ask whether Taiwanese artists who come to the mainland to develop must first express their support for reunification and take the initiative to express that they are from Taiwan, China?

Is this "choosing one of the two", forcing Taiwanese entertainers to "choose sides"?

Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said that such a situation does not exist.

For a long time, we have always actively supported cross-strait film and television exchanges, welcomed Taiwanese entertainers to the mainland to develop, and support more Taiwanese entertainers to share opportunities in the development of the mainland's cultural industry.

It is hoped that Taiwanese entertainers, while developing their careers in the mainland, shoulder their due social responsibilities, abide by relevant regulations, exert the positive influence of public figures, and play a positive role in enhancing the emotional and spiritual harmony of compatriots on both sides of the strait.

Some Taiwanese entertainers have taken concrete actions to express their clear attitudes against "Taiwan independence" secession and support the reunification of the motherland, which deserves full recognition.
