Makoto Kawaguchi, who composed and arranged numerous works such as "Ningyo no Ie", which was sung by singer Mieko Hirota, died on October 20 at a hospital in Yokohama City due to sepsis.

Mr. Kawaguchi from Kobe City made his debut as a composer in 1969 with Mieko Hirota's "Ningyo no Ie", and the following year, Saori Yuki's "Letter" became a hit, and the Japan Record Award for Best Composer of the same year. Then, Teruhiko Saigo's "Midsummer Storm" won the Composition Award.



He also composed the theme song for the special effects program "Ultraman Taro" and the CM song for snacks, and was loved by a wide range of generations.



In addition, he was also active as an arranger, and worked on famous songs that represent the song world, such as Momoe Yamaguchi's "Good Day Departure" and Teresa Teng's "Leave yourself in the passage of time".



According to the Japan Composers and Arrangers Association, Mr. Kawaguchi died of sepsis on October 20 at a hospital in Yokohama City because he was ill and had been hospitalized and discharged repeatedly since last year.
