(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Carrie Lam: Most of the arrangements for exempting quarantine groups in Hong Kong will be cancelled

China News Service, Hong Kong, October 26 (Reporter Zeng Ping) The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, met with the media before attending an executive meeting on the 26th, saying that most of the arrangements for exempting groups from overseas or mainland China to come to Hong Kong will be cancelled.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that Hong Kong will implement epidemic prevention measures in all aspects. For example, it was recently announced that people entering government buildings or premises must use the "Travel with Peace" mobile application, so that if there are confirmed cases in the future, it will be easier to trace close contacts.

Most of the arrangements for exempting quarantine groups from overseas or mainland China will be cancelled, leaving only the urgency and necessity, as well as the quarantine exemption arrangements related to Hong Kong’s daily operations, such as exemption for cross-border truck drivers travelling between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Quarantine arrangements.

These measures will mature one by one.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the SAR government strives to allow Hong Kong residents to travel to the Mainland without quarantine, with the goal of the sooner the better.

She reiterated that if the two places achieve quarantine-free "customs clearance", it will be orderly and scaled from small to large. Initial quotas will be set up, and there will not be six or seven ports for Hong Kong residents to go to the mainland as before the epidemic.

The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Li Jiachao led a delegation to Shenzhen at the end of September to participate in the first docking meeting between the Mainland and Hong Kong on epidemic prevention and control. The two sides discussed the considerations and issues involved in the gradual restoration of "customs clearance".

Carrie Lam said that the time for the second docking meeting has not yet been determined.
