When dried cannabis is made from related parties, cannabis grass of 100 million yen or more is seized at the end trafficking price, and the police are investigating the sales channel.

The couple arrested and charged were Yutaka Matsushita (28) and Airika Matsushita (27) in Izumisano, Osaka.



According to the complaint, the two cultivated 210 cannabis plants for sale from May to August at a house in Izumisano City by shining light with lighting equipment and giving water and fertilizer. He has been accused of violating the Cannabis Control Law for hiding about 365 grams of dried cannabis.



The two were indicted on the 25th for proceeding with an investigation after receiving information from the police that "cannabis plants may be cultivated in Izumisano City."



According to the investigators, a total of about 2,500 cannabis plants were seized from the houses, apartments in Izumisano City, and Yamanaka.



In the case of dried cannabis, the price of smuggling at the end is about 180 million yen, and the police are investigating the sales channel.

Abuse of the younger generation seriously

The number of people arrested for possessing cannabis in Osaka Prefecture has increased significantly in the last five years, and abuse among younger generations, including minors, has become a serious situation.



According to the Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters, 455 people were arrested for violating the Cannabis Control Law last year, which is nearly three times the number in 2016, five years ago.



In addition, of the people arrested last year, 351 people in their 20s or younger account for nearly 80% of the total, and the abuse of cannabis by the younger generation, including minors, is in a serious situation.



Police say that the use of cannabis may adversely affect the health of the younger generation and may be a source of funds for gangsters, etc., and will continue to crack down on it.
