Jules, five, was able to forget his illness for an afternoon on Sunday.
Suffering from a rare cancer, this child from Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère) has a great admiration for the police.
The police of his municipality therefore mobilized to offer him a day by their side, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré.
The Isère police took him to visit the police station.
They then took him for a drive, activating the flashing light.
Finally, the officials presented Jules with gifts: an envelope filled with police badges and crests, a cap and figurines of police officers chasing thieves.
Solidarity that comforts
"I wanted us to make a nice gesture for this little guy, and everyone participated," testified the president of the national police association.
Colleagues of Jules' father contacted officials to tell the story of the little boy.
Jules also received small police cars from all over the world.
"All this solidarity that we experience is inversely proportional to the difficulty of the situation," said the father, informed of his son's cancer diagnosis, in August.
