On October 24, local villagers put the newly harvested rice into the machine for preliminary screening.
On the same day, the 300-mu perennial rice "Yunda 107" demonstration area planted on terraces in Nansa Village, Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous County, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, was tested and accepted in the field.
It is understood that perennial rice is an innovation in rice breeding. It only needs to be planted once, and it can be harvested for two consecutive seasons or harvested for several years after overwintering. During this period, there is no need to purchase seeds, raise seedlings, plow the fields, harrow the fields, and transplant seedlings. The labor input is reduced, the labor intensity of the rice farmers is reduced, and the output remains relatively stable, which breaks through the traditional rice farming methods and realizes the light and simplified production of rice.
