Workers are currently finishing work on a complex of more than 5,000 rooms.

Ultimately, the center will welcome travelers from abroad and placed in compulsory quarantine.

For China, the goal is to return to a “zero Covid” strategy, especially ahead of the Winter Olympics in a few months.

A gigantic complex.

Located in the metropolis of Guangzhou, it is the size of 46 football fields, and its work cost $ 260 million.

Several rows of three-story buildings house more than 5,000 rooms intended to replace hotels that are now used for mandatory quarantines for all travelers from abroad.

Currently, quarantines range from two to three weeks depending on the final destination in China.

The site aims to be ultramodern, largely automated, with robots responsible for disinfection and delivery of meal trays.

Surveillance will be done via cameras and drones piloted by 5G terminals, temperature detectors will be integrated in each room and even Covid tests can be carried out by articulated arms.

China wants to enter post-pandemic era

A real science fiction universe.

The objective is to reduce human contact to avoid contamination with the coronavirus.

The complex will open very soon and will be followed by other similar isolation neighborhoods near several international airports.

This complex is a sign that China is settling into a post-pandemic era, where each entry into the national territory will be subject to particularly severe control.
