Since the tires of large vehicles such as trucks often come off during winter, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is calling for thorough work when replacing tires for winter.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the number of accidents in which the tires come off while driving due to the bolts of the wheels of large vehicles such as trucks breaking or the nuts connecting the wheels and axles coming off is increasing. It is the largest number since 1999 when it started.

According to an analysis by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism last year, 65% of accidents occurred between November and February when tires were replaced with winter tires, and 58% occurred within a month after tires were replaced.

When changing to winter tires in the future, if you work in a hurry due to changes in the weather, the nuts will not be tightened sufficiently and the tires will come off easily.

For this reason, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is calling on businesses to ensure thorough work, such as tightening nuts with special tools when replacing tires and checking the condition of nuts and bolts before operation.
