No more talk, Coldplay will put his ecological convictions into practice.

As reported by the NME, the British group has just announced that they will make their next world tour as carbon neutral as possible.

To do this, a multitude of innovative ideas will be put in place, such as dynamo bikes and dance floors that produce electricity, the use of bamboo for the construction of stages, or even by planting a tree for each ticket sold. .

Coldplay is not the first group to negotiate this turning point.

Before them, we can cite Radiohead, which from the 2008 In Rainbows tour looked for solutions to reduce its carbon impact, just like Massive Attack.

Billie Eilish also hoped to take an eco-responsible tour in 2020 before the pandemic thwarted her plans.

Greenwashing or real turning point?

Obviously, we can retort that the desire of a group like Coldplay to take an eco-responsible course has the accents of a promotional operation, and we may be right.

However, no matter how sincere the approach, we can only hope that the initiatives put in place on this tour will subsequently become widespread and that the greening of the group will influence its large audience.

Coldplay's tour will pass through the Stade de France on July 16 and 17, 2022.
