Police have arrested a 33-year-old driver on suspicion of negligent driving injuries and are investigating the details of the accident.

According to police, at around 4:20 pm on the 23rd, a man in his 70s who was guiding traffic from Wadacho Kaihotsu, Minamiboso City was hit by a light truck.



The man was taken unconscious to the hospital, but died about two hours later.



The site is a national road with one lane on each side and a width of 3 meters, and a man is guiding traffic on the road to put a vehicle loaded with earth and sand on the work site beside the road. It means that it seems to have been hit.



Police arrested a 33-year-old office worker in Tateyama City, who was driving a light truck, on the spot on suspicion of negligent driving injuries.



After admitting the suspicion to the police investigation, he stated that he could not see the front due to backlight.



Police are working to identify the dead man and are investigating the details of the accident.
