Recently, the Jingdong Management and Protection Bureau of Ailaoshan National Nature Reserve in Wuliangshan, Yunnan held an expert review meeting on the "Investigation on the Population and Distribution of Black-crowned Gibbon in Wuliangshanxi", and finally confirmed that they will be located in Jingdong, Zhenyuan and Nanjian, Yunnan Province. There are 104 groups of western black-crowned gibbons living in the Wuliangshan area of the county, which is an increase of 17 groups compared with the results of the 2010 survey.
