St. Petersburg dam will be closed due to the threat of flooding on October 22

According to the forecast, a sharp drop in atmospheric pressure and an increase in wind up to 25 - 28 m / s are possible.

“To prevent the threat of flooding, it was decided to use a complex of protective structures,” says the website of the Directorate of the complex of protective structures in St. Petersburg.

In accordance with the preliminary plan, the dam sections will begin to close on Friday at 2:00 am.

Actual closing times may be subject to change based on data from the meteorological service.

Earlier, the head of the forecast center "Meteo", meteorologist, ecologist Alexander Shuvalov, in an interview with URA.RU, warned of sudden temperature changes in the Urals in the coming days.
