It was confirmed that rime covered the mountain surface near the summit of Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest peak in western Japan.

It is a state of Mt. Ishizuchi in Ehime prefecture taken from an NHK helicopter around 10 am on the 21st.

The northern slope near the summit at an altitude of 1982 meters is white.

Rime is a phenomenon in which moisture in the air freezes and adheres to trees, and was first seen this Monday at Mt. Ishizuchi this season.

According to Mr. Yoshikazu Hitomi, who manages the "Ishizuchi Shrine Summit Sanso" near the summit, the temperature near the summit at 6 am was -3 degrees Celsius, which was the coldest season.

Near the mountain cottage, we saw climbers taking pictures of the mountains covered with hoarfrost and people climbing between the hoarfrost toward Mt. Tengu, the highest point.
