The YouTube video blogger Drachenlord has been sentenced to two years in prison for dangerous bodily harm and other criminal offenses.

"This procedure is a sad example of the consequences of hatred and bullying on the Internet," said the judge on Thursday in Nuremberg.

She saw it as proven that the 32-year-old had hit a man on the forehead with a flashlight and injured, among other things.

He threw a brick at another.

He also insulted police officers.

The prosecutor had previously demanded a prison sentence of two years and six months.

The defense pleaded for a suspended sentence of a maximum of two years.

The defendant had confessed the allegations from the seven indictments during the trial and apologized.

The video blogger has been arguing with his opponents, who call themselves haters, for years - on the Internet and in the real world.

They regularly appear in front of his house in the Middle Franconian village of Altschauerberg to provoke him.

According to their own statements, the police must therefore move out several times a day.

For security reasons, the responsible district court in Neustadt an der Aisch had moved the main hearing to the criminal justice center in Nuremberg.

It is the second time that the Youtuber had to answer for assault in court.

In September 2019, he was sentenced to a suspended sentence of seven months for a pepper spray attack.

He committed some of the now charged acts while on probation.
