It was through a tweet that Gérald Darmanin announced the dissolution, Wednesday, October 20, of the Coordination against racism and Islamophobia, based in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.
The Minister of the Interior explained that this association "called for hatred, violence and discrimination".
He also published the decree of dissolution taken by the Council of Ministers.
In reporting on the work of the Council, Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson, argued that this structure was "at the origin of hate speech and anti-Semitic speech.

At the end of September, Gérald Darmanin announced that he had initiated several procedures to close places of worship and dissolve several associations, all suspected of propaganda of radical Islamism.
Among these associations was one in the Rhône, which turned out to be this Coordination against racism and Islamophobia, created in 2008.
Stressing that a third of the 89 places of worship "suspected of being radical and listed by the intelligence services" have been checked since November 2020, the Minister of the Interior had indicated to

that procedures [were] initiated to close six others in the Sarthe [the Allonnes mosque], in Meurthe-et-Moselle, in Côte-d'Or, in the Rhône or the Gard ”.
