The artistic director of the El Gouna Film Festival, director Amir Ramses, submitted his resignation, and left El Gouna for Cairo as a result of disagreements within the festival's staff, according to the Egyptian newspaper, Akhbar Al-Youm.
The newspaper said, "The El Gouna Festival received many criticisms after its defense of the film Feathers, which was shown at its events and accused of insulting Egypt."
