It was a victory for all, no matter how much Zapatero, in one of his frequent excursions to the territory of indecency and ridicule - from which he no longer returns -, tries to appropriate the struggle of so many.
Not whitewashing the heirs of ETA, those who multiply in 2021 the tributes to their slaughterers, should be an obvious red line for any politician with memory and respect for the victims
.
But sanchismo is above all a way of pursuing power outside of moral limits.
That is why he ran to applaud Otegi for his "solemn declaration", when he was no more than another
rhetorical contortion exercise in acknowledging the pain of the victims without condemning the only guilty of that pain
.
Sanchez long ago accepted Bildu's support as good: he only needs others to see them as valid as he does, and that is why he invents "turning points" where there is only petty calculation.
They were in such a hurry to synchronize with Otegi that yesterday the government spokesperson had to cool down the joy, while the PP in the Senate included the express condemnation of the band in the institutional statement
.
Of course, in the end the statement will not go ahead because the PSOE has not wanted to put Bildu in a compromise.
Zapatero is revealing himself almost worse former president than president
.
His infamous complicity with the Chavista dictatorship, his ties with indigenous populism, and his praise for the "men of peace" in the nationalist world dwarf his moral stature a little more every day.

secret negotiation table -whose first approaches with ETA, as we reveal today, were known to the PP of Rajoy

the socialists had no scruples in agreeing

Sánchez is a prisoner of parliamentary arithmetic and only acts under one premise: power

If to save himself he must change his preferred partner in the Basque Country and go from PNV to Bildu, he will do so.
But rather than propaganda undermine the true story of the terror and its perpetrators, it would be more honest to acknowledge their intentions.
Victims will not be fooled.
