Manhattan residents wake up to a giant statue of a woman's head (video)

Manhattan residents were surprised by a gigantic statue of a woman's head with her index finger on her lips along the Hudson River.

The Snow White Cape overlooks a panoramic view of the river, in front of a forest of tall buildings on the Newport Waterfront.

The statue is located directly across from Greenwich Village, about 6 kilometers from the top of the Statue of Liberty.

"Water when it moves makes a special, very special sound," said Jaume Belinsa, the designer of the giant sculpture.

Belinsa explained that the message of the "Spirit of Water" statue, which is 80 feet (24 meters) tall, is to "keep silent and listen to the deep noise of the water speaking to us."
