On October 20, the 2021 Chongqing Water Emergency Rescue and Disposal and Large Passenger Ship Passenger Evacuation Drill was held in the waters where the Daning River and the Yangtze River converge in Wushan County.
The exercise was based on actual emergency rescue operations, simulating a passenger ship and a cargo ship during a voyage that were suddenly affected by strong winds and collided. The rescue of people on the water (rescue persons in the water and evacuation of passengers), ship firefighting, out-of-control ships intercepting towing and spilling were set up. More than 200 people participated in 5 subjects including oil disposal, 25 ships from related departments.
The purpose of this exercise is to test the suitability of equipment, adapt the emergency linkage mechanism, promote the construction of emergency teams, comprehensively improve emergency rescue capabilities, build a safe defense line for water traffic, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the clean waters.
The exercise was hosted by the Chongqing Water Search and Rescue Joint Conference Office and Chongqing Transportation Bureau, and undertaken by Chongqing Port and Maritime Affairs Center and Wushan County Transportation Bureau.
