French voice actor Bernard Tiphaine died on Tuesday at the age of 83.

Throughout his career, he had lent his voice to many characters, including the one played by Chuck Norris in "Walker Texas Ranger".

Bernard Tiphaine had also dubbed the voices of several cartoon characters.

It is a familiar voice, even if its name and face are foreign to you.

Bernard Tiphaine died Tuesday at the age of 83.

This renowned French voice actor had lent his voice to many characters from series and cartoons popular with several generations.

Bernard Tiphaine was notably the French voice of the famous American actor Chuck Norris, in the 1984 film 

Portés Disparus

, but also (and above all) in the 203 episodes of the

Walker Texas Ranger series

Bernard Tiphaine also lent his voice to several other international actors.

He was the French voice of Christopher Walken in thirty films, and that of Donald Sutherland in twenty other feature films.

The career of the voice actor had also flourished in animation.

Bernard Tiphaine has lent his voice to the robot Bender in Matt Groening 

Futurama's series

, to Doctor Finkelstein in the Tim Burton film 

The Nightmare Before Christmas,

and to the terrifying Anton Ego, the food critic of

Ratatouille. 

Bernard Tiphaine was 83 years old and had had Alzheimer's for several years.
