• The improbable friendship between two little girls sheds light on “Le Peuple loup”.

  • The director of "Brendan and the Secret of Kells" and "Song of the Sea" signs a new marvel of animated cinema.

  • He mixes graphic styles for this eco-friendly tale for all ages.

Irish legends, Tomm Moore knows them so well that he has made them his in his films.

The Wolf People

, the last part of the triptych he dedicated to them, embroiders around the unexpected friendship of two little girls who are completely separate.

The director of

Brendan and the Secret of Kells

and

Song of the Sea

signs an intensely beautiful work.

"It's a female story that I wanted to write," explains the director.

These two children, one wild, the other who will become so, symbolize the love I have for nature and the need to preserve it at all costs from human madness.

This fable with a strong ecological message was presented at the Annecy Festival and cited at the Oscars.

It turns out to be a delight for the whole family.

Freely

Tomm Moore has allowed himself a great freedom of styles around his heroines and the magical wolves that surround them. “Having my own studio and working freelance makes it easier for me to make bold choices,” he explains. Like juggling different types of graphics. The spectator, amazed, lets himself be carried away in the time of legends and recognizes various influences over the images, in particular the painter Gustav Klimt.

“Animation allows you to give free rein to your imagination,” he admits.

Only a lack of time can give limits, but an artisanal structure like ours is less burdensome to manage than a large company like Pixar.

The filmmaker feels no jealousy towards his American colleagues even if

Pete Docter's

Soul

blew the Oscar under his nose last year.

“Their requirement pulls everyone up,” he says.

With a film like

Soul

, Pete Docter accustoms viewers to seeing innovative things and discovering different aesthetics.

It opens the door to works like

Le Peuple loup

 ”.

For all ages

His kids with strong personalities rush into the breach, pursued by cruel Englishmen and welcomed into a forest as mysterious as it is nurturing.

"I would like the public to let themselves be carried away in this magical world as in a daydream", admits Tomm Moore.

His native Ireland, magnified, serves as a setting for wonderful adventures underlined by a dazzling score by Bruno Coulais.

We are happy to feel in harmony with

The Wolf People

, a tale recommended for all ages.
