  Guangzhou, known as "Fanyu" in ancient times, is one of the first batch of 24 historical and cultural cities in the country. It has a history of more than 2,200 years since its establishment.

The Nanyue Kingdom was founded in 203 BC as the capital Fanyu. It was founded by the Qin general Zhao Tuo. It was the first complete feudal regime in the Lingnan region.

Archaeologists have discovered the tomb of the Nanyue King, the ruins of the Nanyue Kingdom Palace, the ruins of the wooden sluice gate of the Nanyue Kingdom, and a large number of tombs of Han dynasty subjects in the urban area of ​​Guangzhou.

Among them, the relics of the Nanyue State Palace and the Tombs of the Nanyue Kings are important archaeological discoveries of Qin and Han archaeology in Guangzhou, which have extremely important historical, artistic and scientific value.

  The relics of the Nanyue State Palace Office are the essence of the famous historical and cultural city of Guangzhou. Among them, the large stone pools of the Nanyue Kingdom period are the first to be seen in the Lingnan area. Court instance.

The Nanyue National Palace Site is located in the center of the old city of Guangzhou. It is the seat of counties, counties, prefectures and government offices since the Qin Dynasty unified Lingnan. It is a testament to Guangzhou as the political, economic and cultural center of the Lingnan region.

The site covers an area of ​​about 400,000 square meters, and the protection area of ​​the site is 53,000 square meters. The thickness of the cultural layer is about 5 to 6 meters. So far, about 16,000 square meters have been excavated.

  The tomb of the King of Nanyue is the tomb of the second generation of King Zhaoxuan of the Nanyue Kingdom. It was discovered in Xianggang Mountain, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. The tomb is well-preserved and has not been stolen. It is the largest, best-preserved, and most unearthed Han Dynasty painted painting in the Lingnan area. The stone chamber tombs reflect the political, economic and cultural development of South Vietnam more than 2,000 years ago, witness the cultural exchanges between China and overseas more than 2,000 years ago, reflect the inclusive regional characteristics of the Lingnan region during the Qin and Han Dynasties, and reproduce Chinese civilization The development process of multiple integration.

A total of more than 1,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics were unearthed from the tomb of the King of Nanyue, including gold and silverware, bronzes, ironware and many other categories, reflecting the popular burial concept in Nanyue during this period.
