At the scene, a reporter from Chinanews.com observed that the outer hubs of the Ferris wheel had completely fallen apart, one of the larger rims was drooping on the load-bearing column, and the rest of the rims were scattered all around, with only steel wires connected.
Residents at the scene recalled that at around 14:47, the ferris wheel rim deformed and fell off, and the metal components fell to the ground with a loud impact sound. The whole process lasted more than 20 minutes.
