On October 18, the National Bureau of Statistics released the performance of the national economy in the first three quarters of 2021.
According to Fu Linghui, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics and Director of the General Statistics Department of the National Economy, preliminary calculations show that the gross domestic product in the first three quarters was 8,23131 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.8% at comparable prices, and an average growth rate of 5.2% over the two years. Compared with the two-year average growth rate in the first half of the year, it dropped by 0.1 percentage point.
In terms of quarters, the first quarter increased by 18.3% year-on-year, and the two-year average growth was 5.0%; the second quarter increased by 7.9% year-on-year, and the two-year average growth was 5.5%; the third quarter increased by 4.9% year-on-year, and the two-year average growth was 4.9%.
