The negotiators from the film workers' union IATSE say that they have reached an agreement on improved conditions.

The exact details have not been released, but sources tell Variety that the new agreement regulates a ten-hour break between two work shifts and a three percent salary increase over three years.

The approximately 60,000 members will now vote on the agreement, and if it is approved, the nationwide strike will be called off.

IATSE organizes professional groups behind the camera, such as film photographers, costume designers and make-up choirs.

In addition to wages, the conflict concerns health insurance and working conditions.

An important point for the union is also that it wants to renegotiate an outdated agreement according to IATSE concerning streaming services, which it believes does not provide employees with sufficient compensation.
