June 1990. Charles Taylor's troops control the majority of Liberian territory and are now fighting in the suburbs of Monrovia, the capital.

He leads the dance.

Certain of his supremacy, he announced on July 27 the dissolution of the government of President Samuel Doe, replaced by a National Patriotic Assembly for reconstruction of which he became the president.

Charles Taylor promises the organization of elections within six months with the participation of all parties.

Only Liberia has become hell, a country where people are slaughtering indiscriminately.

In besieged Monrovia, people dig wells in the middle of the city and eat grass.

Taylor's men are now only 1,500 yards from Doe's Palace.
