Adele has been associated with many things in the past few years - weight loss, divorce, cosmetic surgery, bodyshaming - but not music. What seems strange, if you consider the voice of this singer of the century, and think back to her album “21”, which was a piece of pure pop (and what a piece!). And so Adele was still in the media a lot in the past six years, but her incredible talent seemed largely forgotten - except of course by the fans, who were constantly begging for new music. Her last album "25" was released in 2015. Since then you have seen pictures of a thinner Adele every now and then (completely unnecessary to deal withbut women's bodies are still available for public inspection as a matter of course for many) or were informed by the tabloid press that she had become a mother or that her marriage was falling apart.

But now she's back with music, with a new single, "Easy On Me", and the announcement that the new album "30" will be released in November.

Fans had already speculated a few days ago that it would soon be the case: the number "30" was projected onto buildings and advertising spaces in public places around the world at the beginning of October.

Excited Adele fans shared pictures with the "30" from New York's Empire State Building, from London, Toronto, Venice, Munich, Stockholm, Madrid.

Since Adele's previous albums were titled "19", "21" and "25" and this type of

corresponds to her marketing strategy, the assumption was obvious.

Half an eternity in the pop cosmos

Six years between two albums, that can be half an eternity in the pop cosmos. From an artistic point of view, this is of course only limited, and even if the Beatles released an album every year, many musicians now take more time for their records. Only with pop musicians this was not the case for a long time. Those who were really successful brought out as many albums as possible - also because a pop star acts himself in a complicated network of record companies, marketing, zeitgeist, hype and fans and is at the same time controlled by others. It goes without saying that the pursuit of even more success and, above all, more money always plays a major role.

A good example of the tireless releasing of hits and even more hits is the singer Rihanna: In 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 she released one album each;

each of them featured world hits like “Umbrella”, “Diamonds” or “Stay”.

Only then, it seemed, did the Barbadian singer take a break.

Four years later she released “Anti”, arguably her best album.

She went on a world tour and made a fortune in recent years with her cosmetics company and underwear label.

And musically?

Nothing.

It has become a running gag among fans that Rihanna, who shaped her music for a whole decade and became one of the most important pop icons of her generation, simply no longer publishes any music.
