A husband beats his wife's colleague, the teacher, in support of her in the struggle for the position of the school principal.. Video

A rivalry for the position of a school principal has led to a violent fight between a teacher and a schoolteacher's husband in the Indian state of Bihar.

The incident involving two teachers - Shivshankar Giri and Rinki Kumari - occurred at a primary school in Adapur in eastern Champaran district, Bihar state.

They both competed for the position of director.

A video clip of Shivshankar Giri and Rinki Kumari's husband fighting went viral on social media.

Shivshankar and Rinke vie with each other over who should take over as director for about three months.

There was a sharp argument between them once over who holds professional seniority and is most qualified for the position of director, so the district education department asked them to submit their documents.

When they arrived at the district department office, they engaged in another argument.

They had a verbal disagreement over who would present the documents first and abused each other, and soon the argument turned into a full body fight, with Rinke's husband also getting involved, as he is seen in the video holding Shivshankar and pushing him to the ground.

Then he hit Shivshankar several times with his fist.

The video also shows Shivshankar raining punches on Rinke's husband.

Officials with the District Education Management Office are seen in the video making efforts to end the fighting.

It was not clear if any of them had filed a complaint.
