She denounces "serious accusations" and intends to defend herself.

The Allonnaise Association for the Golden Mean (AAJM), which manages the Allonnes mosque (Sarthe) targeted by an administrative closure for having legitimized the use of armed jihad according to the prefecture, reacted in a press release released Thursday on its Facebook page.

"The Minister of the Interior [Gérald Darmanin] is once again illustrated in an approach and a poster policy", she writes in particular.

Its officials promise to challenge "judicially the measures and decisions taken", regretting "the damage done to the faithful who frequent the mosque and to the Muslim community which is wronged and stigmatized".

"These Allonnaise associations and their managers have always worked for good and preached Islam in the middle ground", maintains the AAJM.

Radical Islamist movement

On Wednesday, the Sarthe prefecture announced that it had initiated a procedure to close the mosque, which welcomes around 300 worshipers.

"According to the elements collected, sermons and the activity of this place of worship, frequented by individuals belonging to or close to the radical Islamist movement, legitimize the use of armed jihad, death as a martyr, the commission of acts of terrorism and the use of violence, hatred and discrimination as well as the establishment of Sharia law, ”the prefecture indicated.

According to the authorities, this place also houses a Koranic school "welcoming about 110 children in front of whom armed jihad has been valued and which therefore constitutes a place of indoctrination".
