Inditex will charge for its bags in Spain as of this Monday, a
measure that is already implemented in Germany
and that will be progressively extended to the rest of the countries in which it is present, as reported to Europa Press in sources from the textile group.
Specifically, the company founded by
Amancio Ortega
will implement this measure in all its chains in Spain with the charge of
10 cents per bag
and 20 cents per envelope, with the exception of the large Lefties bags, which will cost 15 cents, and the from Massimo Dutti, priced at 35 cents.
Inditex, which will also apply this initiative next week in stores in
Austria and Belgium,
frames this decision in its progress in terms of sustainability, after eliminating plastic bags last year and replacing them with recycled paper ones.
The same sources have specified that this measure, which the newspaper 'Expansión' advances this Friday, does not respond to a reduction in costs, since the collection obtained from the collection of the bags will go entirely to environmental projects.
