A total of 55 children, including children, were infected with the new coronavirus, and employees of a private nursery school in Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, where clusters were confirmed, were visiting Kyoto on a comfort trip last month when a state of emergency was declared. So, the city has decided to ask the nursery school to prevent recurrence.

According to Kanagawa Prefecture, it was confirmed that one child was infected with the new coronavirus on the 17th of last month at a private nursery school in Minamiashigara City.

After that, by the 1st of this month, a total of 5 children and staff were confirmed to be infected, so the prefecture announced that a cluster had occurred.

So far, this nursery school has been confirmed to be infected with 55 staff members and children, as well as 12 family members of the children, and has been closed since the 1st of this month.

According to the city of Minamiashigara, which has jurisdiction over the nursery school, the staff of this nursery school visited Kyoto on a three-night, four-day comfort trip from the 17th to the 20th of last month when the first child was confirmed to be infected.

During this period, a state of emergency was declared in Kanagawa Prefecture, and it was requested to refrain from moving across prefectures unless it was necessary for daily life.

The Minamiashigara Children's Division says, "I would like to ask the nursery school to thoroughly prevent recurrence and give a polite explanation to parents."
