[Explanation] For some time, talk show performances have become "hot" in China.

Recently, Huang Xi, one of the first actors to perform a talk show in China, received an exclusive interview with China News Agency "Ask East and West".

[Explanation] In the early years, Huang Xi studied in the United States. From his Ph.D. in biochemistry, he moved to a talk show, and became a comedian who ridiculed Biden in the White House.

At that time, choosing to return to China to perform was Huang Xi's challenge to himself.

I didn't have the confidence at the beginning. At the beginning, I was still trying my best in the United States, and I did a few Chinese sessions in the club.

As a result, a lot of people came to see it.

Later, I published an autobiography in China. After the book was published, when I was giving a speech, it was also when I added some paragraphs. I think everyone’s response was good. I felt that there must be a market in China, so I decided to do it in China. Also continue to do talk shows.

Do a talk show in China, you will feel that you are part of a new wave, so it feels quite exciting.

[Commentary] Recalling his performance experience when he first returned to China, Huang Xi said frankly that he was a little bit "unaccustomed".

In the beginning, even in some TV programs, I was asked to speak on the spot, and even translated English paragraphs into Chinese on the spot, to see how it turned out.

But then I found out bit by bit that many English jokes are not usable in China.

Because language is the same thing, and cultural background is different, so I have to write a lot of paragraphs from scratch.

But dissatisfaction is also a good thing for talk show actors, because you can find new perspectives or find some new inspirations.

[Explanation] As the earliest popular art performance form in the West, "Talk Show" has gradually landed in China.

The efforts of a group of performers have also become a vivid portrayal of cultural exchanges between the East and the West.

In Huang Xi's view, a talk show is an actor expressing personal views and feelings on stage. Each actor tries to be close to reality to tell his experience. This can indeed reflect the culture of a country and the mentality of the entire society.

At the beginning, I was fascinated by talk shows because of its fast feedback. I can often think and feel things together on the same frequency with everyone in an instant, so I think this thing is a very effective (communication) tool.

Talking about talk shows in China, especially speaking in English, has a feature that the audience in the audience does not come from one country.

I often see audiences in South Africa sitting with audiences in Germany, and even American audiences sitting with Iranian audiences.

I think this is something that is not seen in the United Nations.

They came to make these people all sit together and laugh, which I think is quite interesting.
