From afternoon to night, it landed in coastal areas from Qionghai to Lingshui on Hainan Island (typhoon level, 12-13 level, 33-40 m/s).
The Hainan Provincial Government continued to issue a second-level typhoon warning at 6:40 on the 13th; the Hainan Meteorological Bureau continued to issue a third-level rainstorm warning at 6:50 on the 13th.
According to monitoring, this year’s No. 18 typhoon "Compasses" has been strengthened to a typhoon level at 05:00 on the 13th. The center is located at 19.1 degrees north latitude and 113.1 degrees east longitude at 07:00, which is about 285 kilometers east of Wanning City, Hainan Province. On the surface of the South China Sea, the maximum wind force near the center is 12 (33 m/s).

The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Observatory predicts that the "compass" will move westward at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour, maintain or slightly increase in intensity, and approach the eastern coast of Hainan Island. It will be in Qionghai, Hainan Island from the afternoon to night on the 13th. Landed in the coastal area around Lingshui.
The landing intensity is typhoon level (level 12 to 13, 33 to 40 m/s).
After landing, the intensity gradually weakened, passing through Hainan Island, moving into the Beibu Gulf in the early morning of the 14th, and then towards northern Vietnam.
According to the monitoring of the Meteorological Department, due to the combined influence of the "compass" peripheral circulation and cold air, light to moderate rain and local heavy rain occurred in the northern half of Hainan Island from 8:00 on October 12 to 6:00 on October 13, the largest being Qiongzhongli. 35.9 mm in Mushan Township.
The coastal land around Hainan Island and the offshore areas generally have strong winds of magnitude 8-10. Among them, there are gusts of magnitude 11 (29.7 m/s) in the Qiongzhou Strait, and the largest offshore gusts appear on Wenchang Qizhou Islands at magnitude 11 (32.3 m/s). In terms of oceans, the Qiongzhou Strait and the eastern sea of Hainan Island will have winds of 11-12 and 13-14 on the 13th, and will weaken to 6-7 and 8 gusts on the morning of the 14th; the sea surface of the Beibu Gulf, the southern and western seas of Hainan Island , On the morning of the 13th to the 14th, the wind force is 11-12 and the gust is 13; from noon on the 14th, it weakens to the 6-7 and the gust 8; among them, the nearby sea surface where the center of the "compass" passes is 12-13 and the gust is 14～ Level 16.
On the 13th, the sea surface near the Zhongsha Islands and the Paracel Islands had wind force of level 8 and gusts of 9-10. From the morning of the 14th, it weakened to level 6 and gusts of 7 to 8; on the sea surface near the Nansha Islands, winds of force 6 to 7 and gusts of 8 .
On the land, from the 13th to the 14th, there were heavy rains to heavy rains on the whole island of Hainan Island, with extremely heavy rains in the central and western parts of the island; the northern half of Hainan Island has a land force of 11-12, gusts of 13 and the southern half of the island’s land winds of 10～ Level 11, level 12 gusts.
