There were only three left:

Titanium

by Julia Ducornau, Palme d'Or of the last Cannes Film Festival,

L'Evenement

by Aurey Diwan, Lion d'Or in Venice which will be released in theaters on November 24, and, finally,

Bac Nord

, the controversial film by Cédric Jimenez with two million spectators. Which would represent France in the Oscar race for best foreign film? In the end,

Titanium

was chosen by a commission made up of Julie Delpy, Florent Zeller, Iris Knobloch, Alain Goldman, Emilie Georges, Grégory Chambet, Thierry Frémaux, Serge Toubiana and Elisabeth Tanner. “The choice of plume”, one might say.

"We are very proud that

Titane

, a particularly exceptional film, can wear the colors of France in the competition for the Oscar for international feature film" rejoiced Dominique Boutonnat, President of the National Center for Cinema and Image lively.

Note that the film is not yet guaranteed to be in the short-list of Oscar contenders for best foreign film.
