If there is one point that symbolically crystallizes the many differences between environmentalists and Republicans in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, it is the question of inclusive writing.
In an internal note on the "good use of French" dated October 4, which
Le Progrès
unveils this Tuesday, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region led by Laurent Wauquiez clearly indicates that it opposes the inclusive writing of all acts, letters, reports and community deliberations.
"It is important to write in French, intelligible to all, and therefore to definitively ban so-called inclusive writing, whose typographical anarchy ignores the rules of French spelling and syntax, and which creates an additional barrier to a large number of people with disabilities ”, reveals this note.
Shortly after the election of Grégory Doucet (EELV) at the head of the city of Lyon, the town hall had
on the contrary
quickly used inclusive writing in its communication, which had earned it strong criticism from the opposition.
In July 2020, the elected ecologist then assured that this debate was "not a priority".
For Laurent Wauquiez and his teams in the region, that seems to be the case.
