More and more people accept the concept of "lifelong education", and taking exams while going to work has become a trend for office workers.

The increase in demand for talents in the workplace is driving consumption upgrades, the most obvious of which is educational knowledge products. Adult vocational education is rolling forward on the educational track like a tide.

With the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, the education and training industry has receded, and adult vocational education has become a popular option for training institutions to enter and transform.

However, whether the conversion of the new track can run smoothly and whether it can promote the quality improvement of the adult education industry remains to be tested by time.

With the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, education and training institutions with K12 (referring to basic education from preschool to high school) as their main business have entered a cold winter.

Some organizations have announced that they will close their stores, while others have chosen to switch tracks, and adult vocational education has become a new direction for these organizations.

Nowadays, more and more people accept the concept of lifelong education, and taking exams while going to work has become a trend for office workers.

The rising demand for talents in the workplace is driving consumption upgrades, the most obvious of which is educational knowledge products.

From vocational qualification examinations to talent recruitment examinations, professional skills training, etc., the tide of adult vocational education generally rolls forward on the educational track.

When the education and training industry ebbs, adult vocational education has become a popular option for training institutions to enter and transform.

Can the conversion to the new track run smoothly, and can it promote the improvement of the quality of the adult education industry?

To this end, the reporter interviewed.

K12 players entering the new track is not easy

After the "double reduction", Fu Lei, a teacher in a training institution in Shandong, felt more and more anxious. The reduction in class hours, fewer students, and reduced wages made him think about the future.

Fu Lei told reporters that some of his colleagues also went to vocational training schools to apply for jobs, but they only started with consulting, and very few taught teachers.

"The major reason is the mismatch of majors. I have been in the teaching and training industry for nearly 7 years, and I still hope to continue to be a teaching teacher. Later, I will look at more teaching positions in private schools."

Similarly, Wang Peng, who runs a number of training schools, is also uncertain about whether to set foot in vocational training schools.

"After the'double reduction', some of my colleagues have closed their own institutions, because my school is more inclined to quality education, so after the reduction of subject education, the institution can still insist on operation and maintenance."

Wang Peng told reporters that, as the general direction of education development, vocational education is a "wind outlet" and has policy dividends.

But different from K12 education, adult vocational education, such as civil servants, teacher qualification certificates and other examination training, students are mainly based on examination certificates, the renewal rate is not high, and adult vocational education has many categories and strong professionalism. If it is fully deployed, a lot of manpower and material resources are needed.

"If small and medium-sized training institutions change the track, all the hardware teachers have to be updated, which is equivalent to starting a new business. So I am still waiting to see how quality education and K12 education will develop in the future."

Industry insiders pointed out that even if the former K12 head organization enters the field of vocational education, it will inevitably face the pressure of competition on the track.

Taking talent recruitment examination training as an example, Zhong Gong Education, Huatu Education, and Chalk Education have developed for many years and become mature, forming a "three pillars" situation, with scale and market advantages.

New entrants have to think deeply about how to make their own characteristics and achievements to prevent them from being "involved" in the vocational education track.

  Adult vocational education "hot"

Adult vocational education does not become a new track after "double reduction".

According to the data of the Prospective Industry Research Institute, from 2014 to 2019, the overall scale of my country's vocational education market has been increasing year by year, with an average annual compound growth rate of 11%.

Before the "double reduction", leading institutions in the K12 education field such as New Oriental and Gaotu have begun to develop adult vocational education.

In May 2020, Gao Tu stated that the adult education business segment has been positioned as the company's new growth engine.

In March of this year, New Oriental provided hundreds of millions of RMB in Series A financing to provide nitrogen education for public examination training services. This is the first time New Oriental has invested in public examination training institutions.

After the "double reduction", the K12 business declined, and vocational education ushered in more new moves.

Gaotu regards 2021 as its third venture. In July of this year, the "Gaotu" App was newly launched. The reporter found in the App that it covers English, accounting, civil servants, teachers, institutions, medical examinations, etc. More than a dozen adult vocational education projects.

Good future, also the leader of K12 education, held a brand launch conference for Qingzhou, announcing that it will officially enter the field of vocational education, including not only traditional vocational skills, but also new vocational and adult education.

The "Special Research Report on Vocational Education" issued by Morgan Stanley pointed out that the growth of China's service industry and the demand for manufacturing skills upgrading will promote the growth of the vocational education market. It is expected that my country's informal vocational education and training market will grow every year before 2030. 8%, the scale is expected to expand to 870 billion yuan.

According to Liu Xing, a lecturer in the Department of Education of Beijing Normal University, the entry of training institutions into the field of vocational education is a good thing for the development of vocational education in our country.

"The'double reduction' strips off the excessive commercial factors in the previous compulsory education stage one by one, restoring the essence of its people's livelihood business. At the same time, it directs social capital to some areas that need to be developed, such as vocational education, which is conducive to improving China's overall education pattern. It is also conducive to cultivating high-skilled talents needed by the country."

Liu Xing preached.

How to run better on the new track

Yu Rui had served as a civil service examination teacher for 4 years, but at the end of last year, she lost her position and left her post.

Yu Rui told reporters that in recent years, public examinations and teaching resources have stimulated the development of vocational training institutions, and some institutions have blindly opened courses in order to expand the market. At the same time, he taught the contents of the civil service examination and the teacher qualification examination at the same time, and the teachers in the industry are mixed.

According to the "2021 China Vocational Training Industry Research Report" released by iResearch, vocational education-related policies are frequently published. For vocational training institutions, opportunities and challenges coexist.

The vocational training industry is ushering in new development opportunities during the economic transition period, and the market space is vast. With the influx of new players and the penetration of new technologies, competition will become more intense.

In general, the industry's development towards standardization and marketization is good for leading institutions with financial strength, teaching, research, and faculty capabilities.

In addition to excellent teachers, Liu Xing pointed out that enterprises pay attention to practical operations in employing personnel. In recent years, vocational qualification examinations such as teacher qualification certificates have also increased the proportion of practical operations. In the future, vocational education institutions should also focus on training students' practical skills, improve venues, equipment and other supporting facilities, and make good use of online and offline resources, so that students can not only obtain rich teaching resources, but also apply what they have learned."

In recent years, the state has implemented a series of important measures for the reform of vocational education in the new era, including the one-million-year expansion of higher vocational education and the 1+X certificate system.

A teacher from the School of Biological Engineering of Beijing Electronic Technology Vocational College asked Yaqin to suggest that vocational training institutions can strengthen in-depth cooperation with vocational colleges and leading companies, and complement each other’s advantages. “Develop different types of training courses and suitable The vocational qualification certificate for industry development makes the vocational certificate have a threshold and more gold content."
