China News Service, Hangzhou, October 12 (Guo Qiyu) "I found worms in the milk tea when I drank halfway through it!" "I will investigate to the end and must pay me compensation"... From September 2020 to April 2021, Li Huan (a pseudonym) and his friends bought milk tea at milk tea shops in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places and put bugs in them, threatening the shops with threats to expose them and demanding high compensation.

The reporter learned from the People's Procuratorate of Gongshu District, Hangzhou City on the 12th that the court prosecuted the defendant Li Huan and four others for racketeering.

It has been verified that at least 7 milk tea shops have been extorted, with a total amount of 92,000 yuan.

This year, 23-year-old Li Huan dropped out of high school and started working outside. He once worked in a milk tea shop. After leaving his job, he has been idle and has no income.

Thinking of the business philosophy, internal operation and management model of the milk tea shop, he came up with the above-mentioned idea of "making quick money" and hit it off with Wang Ling (pseudonym), his former colleague who had also left.

At the end of September 2020, Li Huan asked Wang Ling to buy a drink at a milk tea shop in Gongshu District, Hangzhou.

Shortly after leaving the store, Li Huan caught a small bug in a nearby park and put it in a cup, and used his mobile phone to take photos and videos of the bug in the drink.

Then Wang Ling called the store.

The shop manager expressed his willingness to refund the milk tea and re-make a cup as a gift.

Wang Ling refused and insisted on asking for compensation.

After that, the store manager said that he could compensate 1,000 yuan in accordance with the highest food safety compensation standard, and he personally apologized at the door, accompanied Wang Ling to the hospital for an examination, and shouldered all the expenses.

However, the two threatened to expose the influence to the brand's reputation to the media and demanded 50,000 yuan in compensation.

Faced with such a high compensation price, the store manager was unable to deal with it, so he asked the superiors to come forward and negotiate.

In order to show sincerity and maintain the brand image, the company's executives eventually paid 45,000 yuan.

According to this routine, from the end of November to the beginning of April 2020, Li Huan and three other friends carried out blackmail at milk tea shops in Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, respectively, and succeeded again with 46,000 yuan.

At the end of April 2021, Li Huan and his friends went to Shanghai to play, and planned to blackmail a milk tea shop in Shanghai.

However, the frequent claims made before have aroused the vigilance of the milk tea shop headquarters. After reporting the case to the public security organ, four people were arrested one after another.

The procuratorial organ believes that Li Huan and other four persons used blackmail and extortion of other people's property for the purpose of illegal possession. The amount is huge and constitutes the crime of extortion.
