Xinhua News Agency, Lanzhou, October 11 (Reporter Zhang Yujie) Flying up and dancing, nine-color deer strolling... Soon, these images will "fly down" from the Dunhuang murals and come to tourists in a combination of virtual and real, becoming Mogao A new experience of cave tourism.

The reporter learned from the Dunhuang Academy that starting from October 20th, the institute will launch the "Flying" thematic tour route.

On the basis of the traditional visiting route, visitors can use handheld terminals to experience the virtual flying scenes of 3 caves, 2 virtual panoramic caves, 9 flying collections of different dynasties, and 2 films about cultural relics protection and digitization.

In the "Feitian" thematic tour route, visitors in the Mogao Grottoes area can take photos with the images in the murals such as the Nine-Colored Deer and Feitian, and experience the "wonderful collision" between the ancient caves and emerging technologies.

According to the Dunhuang Academy, this idea is based on the massive digital resources accumulated over the years and the research results of Dunhuang Studies.

These resources are combined with Huawei's centimeter-level spatial positioning and other new technologies to create a virtual world of "seeing the cave outside the cave" in Mogao Grottoes.

In recent years, the Dunhuang Academy has continued to innovate the Mogao Grottoes visit experience.

In 2014, the Mogao Grottoes Digital Exhibition Center was put into operation.

In addition to visiting the physical caves of Mogao Grottoes, tourists can also watch two movies in the center to better understand the historical background of Mogao Grottoes and appreciate the details of the caves more clearly.

In addition to allowing tourists to have a fresh travel experience, these new technologies are also helpful to the protection of cultural relics.

The hospital's monitoring results show that the increase in tourists will cause changes in the temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration of the cave, which will cause cultural relic diseases.

These new measures will shorten the visit time of tourists in the cave and help the preservation of cultural relics.

According to reports, visitors can book this tour service at the Mogao Grottoes Visit Reservation Network one week in advance.
