Scotland opens world's first cryptocurrency addiction treatment center

The world's first medical center has opened in Scotland where people who want to treat cryptocurrency addiction can be treated, local media reported.

Doctor Anthony Marini, one of the therapists at the center, revealed that, to date, 15 people have been helped to get rid of this disease, which is similar to other types of dependence, attachment and addiction.

He said that all of the patients ranged in age from 20 to 45, and they were led to the rehabilitation center at Castle Craig Hospital with other cases of suspension caused by their crypto-related hobby.

According to “Russia Today,” Marini described the symptoms of the disease among those infected with it, saying: “They talk on the phone nonstop, they follow behind the computer the fluctuations in the prices of cryptocurrencies, and in the absence of conditions for that, their hands sweat, and sometimes they even go into a state of panic.”

Three years ago, Castle Craig Hospital announced that it had developed a medical plan to treat cryptocurrency addiction, as a kind of dependency that could negatively affect human life and even lead to a real financial disaster.

Doctors from the Scottish Hospital suggested treating cryptocurrency enthusiasts with methods used to treat gambling-related people.

It is difficult for cryptocurrency traders to lure easy profit, but it is even more difficult for them to maintain their mental health and money in conditions of extreme cryptocurrency price fluctuations.

Psychiatrists see several reasons that may lead to the formation of an attachment to cryptocurrencies, including escaping from the pressure and boredom of daily life, the illusory freedom from feeling bored and lonely, the feeling of finding a way out of a critical situation, and others.

Castle Craig Hospital offers cryptocurrency addicts a rehabilitation program divided into 12 phases of intensive treatment, including thinking and behavior therapy, trauma therapy and horse riding therapy.
