The Tokyo District Court sentenced a former employee of the general affairs department of the NHK news bureau to two years in prison in a trial in which he was charged with sending a fictitious order to a business partner and defrauding about 4.3 million yen worth of personal computers. I did.

Defendant Takuta Okazaki (30), a former employee of the general affairs department of the NHK news bureau, sent a fictitious order to a consumer electronics retailer in September and October last year while he was in office, and sent a fictitious order form to 17 laptop computers for about 4.3 million yen. He was accused of fraud for deceiving considerable.

In the ruling, Judge Toshifumi Takioka of the Tokyo District Court pointed out that "the crime is planned and the technique is clever. He has a large amount of debt in gambling, and his motive is selfish and deserves strong criticism." I sentenced him to prison.

NHK commented, "We deeply apologize to the viewers and will continue to thoroughly manage our business to prevent recurrence."
