On the 7th of this month, about 20 of the 54 large birds, Emu, which were bred at a guest ranch in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, escaped due to the fasteners on the fence door coming off, and people involved in the ranch I searched the area every day.



On the 10th of the 4th day, from 7:00 am, we searched for 3 birds with more than 20 people involved in the ranch, and 2 birds in the morning and after noon in the forests and rice fields within a range of about 1 km from the ranch. I found one in the area and captured all the emu that had escaped.



According to the ranch, one of the three feathers caught on the 10th died after being caught.



Yoshiharu Nagasako, director of fattening at Kikuchi Emu Tourism Ranch in Kumamoto Prefecture, apologized, "I'm sorry for causing concern to everyone in the area."



On top of that, he expressed his intention to urgently take measures to prevent recurrence, such as changing the door of the fence where Emu escaped from the outside opening to the inside opening and increasing the number of surveillance cameras.
