[SBS Special] I Live: A Rocket Girl and a Hook Fan ②

The movie-like story of prosthetic artist Seok Chang-woo and prosthetic golfer Han Jeong-won was released.

In the SBS special broadcast on the 10th, the last episode of the 2021 summer special 'I Live: Rocket Girl and Hook Fan' got on the air.

Seok Chang-woo received a letter from someone. Although they were strangers who had never even heard of their names, there was something in common between the two. The story of two people who have never met under the same name, but have a strangely similar parallel theory, was that of Seok Chang-woo and Han Jeong-won.

In the summer of 2013, the tenth year of teaching, high school physical education teacher Jeong-won Han lost his left leg in a car accident while attending teacher training.

And electrician Chang-Woo Seok lost both arms and two toes in a 20,000 volt electric shock during an electrical check in 1984, which was a month and a half after his second child was born and he was only 30 years old. it made me sad

Jeongwon, who lost her left leg and had a prosthetic leg, wanted to return to her daily life as a physical education teacher, so she endured any pain and worked on rehabilitation. And he made a promise that he would return to his high school students until they reached their senior year of high school, and he kept that promise.

Seok Chang-woo, who had nothing he could do other than talk and walk, found something he could want to be a father to his children. However, the journey was not easy, and as the meaningless time passed, when my son asked to draw a picture, I grabbed a pen for the first time and took a whole day to draw a picture of a sparrow. And his life began to move again with the painting. Mr. Seok Chang-woo, who can't forget the face of his son who was delighted with receiving the sparrow painting, thought of painting it.

Han Jeong-won, who first wondered if he would be able to continue as a physical education teacher, rather than whether he could walk again, was eager to return to his children, and he returned to his disciples. Even the children, who were initially unfamiliar with the teacher with prosthetic legs, quickly became accustomed to the teacher who ran and breathed together. However, contrary to his overflowing will, his body was not what it used to be. My stamina was dropping and I was suddenly in severe pain.

In response, Han Jeong-won awakened himself by challenging various sports. He showed great skills by taking on challenges such as tennis and rowing in turn, but unlike his aptitude, the affected area was in trouble. Eventually, I got to the point of having a second surgery, and the doctor in charge recommended golf without any strain on my left leg. And the life of Han Jeong-won, who started golf, began to change.

Seok Chang-woo visited the studio to learn painting. However, in the studio, he had never taught a man who had lost both arms, and asked how he could do a job that had to deal with multiple paints. So Seok Chang-woo thought of the four gentlemen who could draw with one ink, went to the calligraphy academy, and started drawing like that.

At first, even holding a brush was not easy. I had to wrap the tape around the prosthetic arm to fix the brush, and I had to use my whole body to draw a single stroke. However, after a lot of practice, he surpassed his limits with ink croquis, and he became the first prosthetic artist in Korea to capture the vivid images of athletes in ink croquis. Since then, his work has been published in textbooks and was invited to the closing ceremony of the 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympic Games.

Han Jeong-won, who started golf and works every day to become a proud mother to children. He was invited to the professional stage for the first time in May with amputees. But the wall of reality was high. Therefore, for his dream and challenge, golfer Kim Ji-hyun played a round with him and cheered him on. And in the process, Han Jeong-won gained a great realization and attracted attention.

Han Jeong-won and Seok Chang-woo, who dream and aspire to become the first medalist in the Paralympic golf event, hoped one day they could see his swing in person.

In addition, Chang-Woo Seok presented a picture of Jung-Won Han's swing as a gift, creating a warm atmosphere.

Through each other's stories, the two realized that any inconvenience was not enough to dampen their challenge and passion.

And if it was fate to part with his precious body, he said that it would be fate to live as a prosthetic artist and prosthetic golfer.

In golf, there are 18 holes, and if you fail one hole, you can do well on the next hole.

He drew attention by saying that he is not afraid of a new start, saying that he is standing on the first tee hole where he can always start again.
