Vocational vision over Liucheng respondents vocational college students do not want to select when the "blue collar" after graduation

"blue collar" out of favor, to pursue new career trend

Recently, the "China Youth Daily" Ministry of Education and Science issued questionnaires to students in vocational colleges across the country to understand their employment intentions.

A total of 26,596 valid questionnaires were received, of which 50.25% were sophomores and 44.44% were juniors; in terms of majors, 40.31% were science students and 26.65% were engineering students.

Less than two years after graduating, Wu Xin (pseudonym) from a vocational college in Jiangxi changed three jobs. At first, he worked as a welder in an established company through an on-campus job fair. After working for three months, he found out People can't speak, they can only deal with a group of "dumb" machines all day long.

Therefore, he chose to decisively "escape" from the factory, and then did a period of sales, and now he is the wedding master of ceremonies, responsible for the wedding process with the new couple.

Wu Xin is not the case.

Choosing to "escape" the factory and reluctant to work in the workshop seems to have become a very obvious employment trend among young people.

Even among vocational college students whose main goal is to train first-line skilled talents, there is a tendency to spread.

Recently, the "China Youth Daily" Ministry of Education and Science issued questionnaires to students in vocational colleges across the country to understand their employment intentions.

The results of the questionnaire show that more than 60% of the interviewed vocational college students are unwilling to choose to be "blue collar".

In an interview with a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily, a number of vocational college teachers found that the employment trend of "de-factoryization" and "de-grassization" is becoming more and more obvious, and emerging e-commerce jobs are sought after by students in vocational colleges.

Many of the "big country craftsmen" interviewed also called for the training of talents in vocational colleges to return to technical positions, so as to provide youth power for the development of a manufacturing power.

The questionnaire received a total of 26,596 valid questionnaires, of which 50.25% were sophomore students in vocational colleges and 44.44% were junior students in vocational colleges; from the perspective of majors, 40.31% were science students. 26.65% are engineering students.

More than 60% of the surveyed vocational college graduates do not want to be "blue collar"

After graduating in June 2021, Yang Yanxu, majoring in electronics at Beijing Polytechnic Institute of Industry and Technology, did not hesitate and chose to start a business with a teacher. ."

Now, as soon as he joined the entrepreneurial company, he was in charge of the operation of four colleges and universities' self-media accounts, "directly open all the back-end data, which is impossible in other units." The most attractive. Yang Yanxu’s job is that after three months of employment, he learned how to operate a self-media account, how to deal with different universities, and how to build a new media matrix. All these new knowledge and experience continuously enriched his mind.

Yang Yanxu introduced that of the 30 students in the class, only two went to professional programming positions, and the other 28 students were scattered in many different industries.

Yang Yanxu observes the friends around him. Their general idea is that if you go to a state-owned enterprise and start with "blue-collar" workers, you "may wipe out your lifelong vigor."

In their view, "hiding" in that place for years, "only feels stable."

The other reason is that instead of sharpening the technology at the grassroots level for ten years, it’s better to make a foray. Yang Yanxu thinks, “Why do you have to do such a thing? How can it be."

The questionnaire found that 63.97% of the interviewed vocational college students would not choose to enter the first-line grassroots positions such as factories, construction sites, and workshops after graduation. In addition, only 32.8% of the interviewed vocational college students found that their surrounding students would choose electricians, Real economy positions such as welders.

At a campus job fair, Wang Zhiming, director of the Academic Affairs Office of Dongguan Vocational and Technical College, saw a sharp contrast scene: there were long lines in front of the recruitment desks of large companies such as the Internet, and the recruitment desks of companies such as manufacturing There were very few students who applied for the job before.

"Compared with before, the trend of students' employment goals has changed a lot. Students like mechanics are reluctant to go to labor-intensive positions. They prefer new and brighter positions."

According to Lu Wenche, head of the Employment Office and School-Enterprise Cooperation Office of Shaanxi Vocational College of Industry and Technology, on the one hand, the labor intensity of the factory is high. Some positions require about 10 hours of work a day, and the average monthly salary is only about 6,000 yuan, which is difficult to attract. Students come to work.

On the other hand, employment in the market is now diversified, providing different types of new occupations such as e-sports anchors and e-commerce.

In addition, he believes that the professional recognition of most manufacturing jobs is also declining, and it is difficult for graduates to gain a sense of accomplishment and honor at work.

A military-industrial enterprise in Shaanxi came to the school to recruit every year. The students who had been competing for employment in previous years lined up in front of their posts. , The recruitment situation has not been as good as one year."

The results of the questionnaire survey show that multiple factors have caused students in vocational colleges to no longer favor "blue collars": 61.9% of vocational college students surveyed would be unwilling to go to the bottom of the manufacturing industry due to the boring and single-line life, and 61.04% of vocational college students surveyed They are not optimistic about the job prospects of the grassroots in the manufacturing industry. 52.87% think the working environment is poor, 40.01% think the wages at the grassroots level are low, and 31.35% are reluctant to go to first-line factories because the circle of friends at work is too narrow.

Students do not have a clear career plan, follow the trend

After graduating, Zhang Yu (pseudonym), a secondary vocational graduate born in 1999, went to Hangzhou with his classmates. He chose an e-commerce company and then started a business with a friend to do maintenance and installation work for smart homes.

Hu Xin (anonymous), a graduate of the same batch as him, changed 4 jobs in just two years after graduation.

Upon graduation, according to the school's unified arrangement, Hu Xin, who studied electronics, went to an enterprise in Jiangxi to repair intelligent equipment.

At that time, the two often complained to each other in private about the status quo of their work.

For the 18-year-old Hu Xin, the work of the unit is trapped in a boring cycle, and often a type of equipment problem recurs.

When the e-commerce industry was on the rise, Hu Xin moved to Hangzhou to work in e-commerce. After working for a while, he felt that e-commerce was too slow to bring goods, so he went to educational institutions to do sales.

During the chat, Zhang Yu could clearly feel that all his friends around him "have no clear plan for work, they are all following the trend."

The questionnaire survey shows that 45.13% of the interviewed vocational college students choose a position with fast personal growth, 44.36% of the vocational college students choose this position because of their freedom of work, and 20.4% of the students value whether their work is fashionable and fun.

Xiao Xingxing, a counselor at Jiangxi Electronic Information Technician College, has a more profound experience. Fresh graduates prefer to work in industries such as the Internet and real estate.

There are also some children who are not clear about their career plans after graduation, and always follow popular careers.

He once came into contact with a student majoring in electronics and electrical appliances, with excellent grades and good skills, but before graduation, he heard from his family that it is good to be in the construction industry, so he went to study construction again.

There are a series of problems behind the rapid changes in students' outlook on career choices: the more interested in popular positions and companies, the fewer and fewer students can "sit on the bench".

"They prefer more practical skills that can be realized immediately after giving."

Xiao Xingxing observed that there are children who love to shoot short videos and edit videos. After they are posted online, they will soon be able to charge.

"But the high-skilled talents and craftsmen from big countries who have grown up from grassroots positions all need a kind of determination to continuously study technology."

“The country has to pay a higher education cost to train a vocational college student for machinery manufacturing. It is a pity if students with professional skills become less willing to engage in skilled jobs after graduation.” Lu Wenche believes that this is not the case. The state's original intention of cultivating vocational education talents goes against the original intention.

At the same time, subtle changes have also taken place in the professional choices of vocational college students.

The director of the admissions office of a vocational college once studied the annual graduate data. A few years ago, his school had 5,000 or 6,000 graduates each year, and the number of graduates in manufacturing majors reached more than 3,000. It accounts for about 60%.

In recent years, the number of graduates per year is about 7,000, but the number of graduates in manufacturing majors has dropped to about 2,000. "From the overall ratio, the number of students has decreased significantly, and students are unwilling to choose manufacturing majors. Got a job."

All parties call for students from vocational colleges to return to technical positions

In 30 years, maintenance electricians have been sitting on the "cold bench" warmly.

He presided over the innovation of 167 scientific and technological achievements and obtained 5 national patents, which enabled the company to harvest more than 55 million yuan in circular economy benefits.

The eponymous work of senior technicians and "big country craftsmen" of North China Pharmaceutical Jintan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has always been centered on electric power maintenance.

When he just graduated, he was also a young and energetic guy. In 1991, he was assigned to the high-voltage maintenance team of the 110 workshop as an electrician. At the beginning, he was confused about the factory's high-voltage system relay protection device and other tasks. At that time, he thought that he would be doing middle school and doing middle school.

In 2001, an Italian equipment was shut down. If the equipment is transported back to Italy for repair, the production loss will be at least tens of millions of yuan; if a technician is asked to repair it, it will cost thousands of yuan per hour and cost hundreds of thousands of yuan. Yuan.

The same name signed up and wanted to try to overcome this big problem. During the two days, after repeated disassembly, assembly and testing, it was finally found that a resistor was burned out.

He bought a new one for 0.1 yuan, and the machine returned to normal.

But 30 years later, he discovered that the times have changed. The children born in 1995 are reluctant to work in the workshop. Some have been here for less than a year and feel that their wages are not high, so they go to foreign companies or start their own businesses.

Sometimes he took the young guy to the workshop to repair the machine and worked on it. He listened to the guy saying that this work was too hard and he couldn't do it by himself.

The same name also understands young people. After all, the work of electrician maintenance at the grassroots level in the workshop is “not popular and unpopular” from the traditional concept. To attract young people to exercise at the grassroots level after graduation, the same name feels that the most important thing is to cultivate his love for the profession. , The love of technology and the interest to study and study, to become highly skilled talents.

If you want to further truly realize the dream of making a powerful country, everyone feels that everyone needs to do a good job in their own posts.

He drew an analogy. It’s like society is a sophisticated instrument. If every part works normally, the performance of the machine will be stable; but if only a few parts work well and some parts are constantly being replaced, then the machine will do it. Does not operate efficiently.

Guo Rui, chief technician of the fitter of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., also felt the same way. To make young people willing to go to the grassroots and come to the factory, they must have a sense of professional achievement and gain.

He once had an apprentice who graduated from postgraduate. In his first year of training at the grassroots level in his unit, the young man planned to leave after a short period of time.

During the communication, the young man felt that he wanted to do high-tech R&D in the future, and he should not spend his days in the workshop. After a while, the graduate student went to prepare for the civil service exam and left the unit.

Guo Rui found that companies must also think of ways to "retain talents."

Wang Zhiming believes that traditional intensive and assembly-line jobs will be replaced by machines in the future.

Therefore, manufacturing enterprises must also accelerate the transformation and upgrading of grassroots positions, change the current situation of poor working environment, and encourage high-tech enterprises to absorb high-skilled talents and talents with compound skills, and gradually the society's awareness of grassroots positions Changes will also occur.

"How to effectively play the supporting role of vocational education for high-quality industrial workers, and always based on the needs of my country's industrial transformation and upgrading and high-quality development, will become an important strategic choice for my country to build a skilled society." Liu Xiao, School of Educational Science and Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology , Qian Jiannan co-authored suggestions to improve the level of vocational education, develop undergraduate-level vocational education; improve the modern vocational education system, vigorously develop vocational skills training; optimize the evaluation methods of skilled talents, and improve the level of industrial workers' treatment.
