A time threatened with disappearance, the France 4 channel has found an unexpected breath with the Covid-19 crisis, and in particular at the time of the first confinement.

The president of France Télévisions Delphine Ernotte promises the National Assembly a new program schedule to strengthen its offer to children.

The phoenix of France Télévisions is about to renew its plumage.

The France 4 channel was to disappear in August 2020. A closure postponed for a year, then canceled thanks in particular to the new breath found by the channel during the first confinement.

France 4 then offered educational programs, real lessons provided by teachers, while schools were closed.

Channel 14 will continue to evolve from next January to attract even more the young public, whose expectations have changed with the resumption of prices.

Invited by the Cultural Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, the President of France Télévisions Delphine Ernotte announced Thursday a new program schedule for France 4. This transformation concerns daytime broadcasts, with a strengthening of educational programs.

Programs in the vein of

It's still not rocket science

 and

 Jamy's World

These new programs will not be "purely educational", but rather between "relaxation and education", according to Delphine Ernotte. "On France 4, we did class while the school was closed. It worked very, very well: we reached 1 million children per day. It is considerable," she reminded the deputies. "But we realized that apart from this very special moment when the school was closed, purely educational programs do not work. Children, when they go to school, are looking for something more fun. when they leave class ".

The President of France Télévisions, who cited

It's still not rocket science

 or

Le Monde de Jamy

as examples of programs that are already in this vein.

The France Télévisions teams are also working on bridges between France 4 and the digital education platform Lumni.

See you in January 2022 to discover these new programs on channel 14.
